How FIES works
FIES is the Student Financing Fund, a program from the Ministry of Education (MEC) that helps low-income university students pay tuition fees for in-person courses at private colleges through financing. With FIES, students only need to pay back the student loan after they graduate.
How does the Fies selection work?
The FIES selection is based on the score of the National High School Exam (Enem). Competition occurs among candidates who choose the same course, university, campus, and shift.
The higher the Enem score, the greater the chances of securing a spot in FIES.
Registration Requirements
- A minimum average score of 450 points in the Enem (from 2010 onwards)
- A score higher than zero in the Enem essay (from 2010 onwards)
- A maximum gross family income of 3 minimum wages per person
